Community access and participation

Community support starts with what interests you. Discuss one-to-one assistance to visit people, take part in activities and feel more familiar with places in your Melbourne community.

Choose what matters to you

You might want to visit a friend, try a class or return to an activity you enjoy. Tell us what you would like to do, what you would prefer to do independently and where having someone alongside you would help.

Everyday examples

Support might include visiting a local library, joining a hobby activity or planning to meet a friend. We can help you work through the practical steps, so you can take part in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful to you.

Plan the practical details

Before an outing, discuss timing, transport, accessibility, communication and any breaks you may need. Let us know what makes an environment comfortable for you. Venue access and activity arrangements need to be checked for the particular visit.

Understand activity costs

Ask about the support rate, travel and cancellation terms, and who pays for tickets, meals, entry fees or other activity expenses. Do not assume that an activity cost is included in the support fee or covered by your NDIS funding.

Support in Melbourne and across Victoria

Tell us your suburb, preferred days and the support you would like. We will discuss availability, worker suitability and any travel arrangements with you before confirming your support.

Before you decide

Ask about the tasks, schedule, rates, travel, changes and cancellation terms that would apply to your arrangement. If you plan to use NDIS funding, clarify how the proposed support fits your plan and funding arrangements before committing.

Questions about community access

Do I have to join a group? This page is about discussing individual community participation. You can explore your own interests; group activities are a separate service with arrangements that need confirmation.

Can you help me find an activity? Yes. We can explore ideas with you, guided by your interests and choices. Together, we discuss the support and practical arrangements before you decide.

Discuss your support

Start with your name, suburb or town in Victoria, the support you want to discuss and how you would like us to contact you. A family member, advocate or authorised referrer can help with your permission. Please do not send an NDIS number, plan or medical records with an initial enquiry.
