Personal care and daily activities

Your personal routines should reflect your choices. Talk with Ava Aid about the assistance you need with everyday activities at home in Melbourne, and the parts you want to do yourself.

Support that fits your routine

You might want assistance to get ready in the morning, manage dressing or follow an evening routine. We start by discussing the tasks you want help with and how you prefer that help to be given.

Everyday examples

Support might include laying out clothes and assisting with dressing, helping with showering and personal hygiene, or breaking a morning routine into comfortable steps. We agree on the tasks with you and respect the way you prefer to be supported.

Your privacy and preferences

Tell us about your communication preferences, personal boundaries and what matters to you in a worker match. You can explain what you are comfortable with, ask questions and discuss how you would like assistance to change. Any personal care tasks need to be clearly agreed before starting.

Agree the right support

Tell us about any equipment or assistance you need so we can check that the tasks fit our service and worker skills. Nursing, clinical care and high intensity support are outside this service. We will clarify what support is suitable before an arrangement is made.

Support in Melbourne and across Victoria

Tell us your suburb, preferred days and the support you would like. We will discuss availability, worker suitability and any travel arrangements with you before confirming your support.

Before you decide

Ask about the tasks, schedule, rates, travel, changes and cancellation terms that would apply to your arrangement. If you plan to use NDIS funding, clarify how the proposed support fits your plan and funding arrangements before committing.

Questions about personal care

Can I choose how my routine runs?
Tell us your preferred sequence, pace and the things you want to do yourself. Discuss these preferences when agreeing the support.

Can I ask about who will support me?
Yes. Tell us about the experience, communication style and personal preferences that matter to you. We will discuss worker suitability and availability before you decide.

Discuss your support

Start with your name, suburb or town in Victoria, the support you want to discuss and how you would like us to contact you. A family member, advocate or authorised referrer can help with your permission. Please do not send an NDIS number, plan or medical records with an initial enquiry.
